So I’m in Bali… For the next few months my posts are going to be a bit different to normal. Less make up and more stunning views and hopefully helpful trip advise I’ve gained along the way. First thing I thought was worth a mention was my day snorkelling at Menjangan Island in the north west of Bali.
Me and the girls I met out here decided to go for a day visit to an island about an hour and a half away from where we’re staying in Lovina. There are loads of organisations that offer day trips out and so we browsed around a few before deciding on a day trip which including bus transport to the harbour, the boat to the island, a snorkelling guide, lunch and drinks, for all this we paid 500,000 IRP which is the equivalent to £25! Not bad at all I don’t think! Things here on the whole seem to be pretty cheap and you can barter prices down pretty much everywhere.
The boat ride it self was amazing through the clear turquoise water past lots of little islands to our first point where we dropped the anchor and jumped in. All our snorkelling equipment was included and the guys that worked for the organisation were lovely. The snorkelling was far better than I could have imagined and we had ages to swim around and see all the beautiful and exotic fish and the mile long coral reef in the warm water. The beach it self wasn’t as good as I’d hoped as it was covered in rocks and there wasn’t much space for sunbathing but the snorkelling more than made up for it which was the main purpose of the day anyway so I can’t complain. All in all it was definitely worth the small price tag and I would massively recommend it. Snorkelling was a success now onto the next Bali adventure.
