This is a new style of post for me, normally when talking about makeup I just show pictures of the products laid out nicely on my white desk. This time I thought I’d add in a picture of the finished look so you can see how it looks when it’s all put together.
This is probably my most worn makeup look at the moment. I recently got some new products, some of which I featured in a recent post and so I have been enjoying testing them out and finding new combinations. I don’t always like a massively heavy base so I have used Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade Deauville. This product is one I always find myself going back to, I often find it hard to find the exact colour match for my skin. A lot of foundations can look very orange on me and I find they often oxidize throughout the day leaving my complexion patchy, and then I pass a mirror and curse as I realise I have been walking around looking like a cheese puff all day. Luckily those days are behind me due to years of foundation testing to find the exact shades and formula that I think works for me, Nars Sheer Glow being one of them. I have brightened my under eyes using Charlotte Tilbury’s Concealer (shade 2) and following this, set my base with my Rimmel Matt Powder in the shade 001 Translucent. Also from Charlotte Tilbury I have used her Sculpt and Highlight set and her Blusher in shade Ecstasy which are both definitely current favourites.
On the eyes I have used a mixture of three shades from my Zoeva Cocoa Blend Pallets. Pure Ganache and Subtle Blend all over the lid, followed by the shade Freshly Toasted in the crease of my eye. I’ve used my usual Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Liner for definition and my well loved Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Lastly, on my lips I have used Rimmel Exaggerate lip pencil in Eastend Snob, underneath Charlotte Tilbury’s Lipstick in the shades Stoned Rose (no prizes for guessing my favourite makeup brands at the moment).
There you go, a little insight into the products I have been reaching for most the majority of this month and I’m sure will continue to be my go-to look. It’s very versatile, as it’s natural enough to be worn day-to-day, or for an evening look, use a darker shade on the eyes and add a stroke more liner.
Let me know in the comments if you like this style of makeup post, and I will do more in the near future. What are some of your favourite products at the moment?
