Botanics Skincare Routine

I can be quite fussy when it comes to skincare, but if you think about it, you’re putting it on your face every single day. If you were going to wear the same outfit everyday I’m sure you would be very particular with what you picked to put on. When it comes to skin care the main things I look for are, effective products that work well with my skin type and/ or skin concern. That the price is within my budget and of course that the brand doesn’t test any of their products or ingredients on animals. Botanics tick all these boxes and more! All their products are tailored for certain skincare requirements; brightening, hydration, anti-aging etc. Their price range is very low compared to their competitors and of course no animals were harmed in the making of any of their products. Having just had their brand relaunch it’s the perfect time to pop into your local Boots and check out their range. I thought I would share with you some of my current favourites from their brand, and the firm staples in my current skincare routine.

Micellar waters have been an ongoing craze for a while now. However when I started only using cruelty free products I had to ditch the Garnier product and go on the hunt for something new. This is when I came across Botanics own version. It works in the exact same way, breaks down and removes your face of make up without having to use any water. Only the Botanics solution isn’t tested on animals before being sold to you, which in my eyes makes it a clear winner. Simply use morning and evening. Apply to skin using a cotton wool pad. Hold over lashes, lids and lips for a few seconds and wipe away. No need to rinse or rub.

After I’ve removed my make up or used the Micellar Cleanser to clean my skin I use Botanics Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz. I’ve never been one for using a toner religiously but if I ever talk to a skin care expert or beautician they tend to always say that using a toner is the number one way to avoid breakouts. As this toner is so easy to use, you literally spray directly onto your face and it comes out in a fine refreshing mist I have no excuse not to use it in my routine. I won’t lie it is fast becoming one of my favourite products! It smells incredible, and instantly makes me feel relaxed and calm and makes my skin feel refreshed.

In the colder months I tend to find my skin starts to get more and more dry and I therefore I need a super hydrating, moisturiser that I can trust to keep my skin feeling its best throughout the winter. This Organic Hydrating Day Cream form Botanics is the product I have been reaching for everyday for the past few months and I love it. It’s a very lightweight and fast-absorbing formula containing organic rosehip extract. It nourishes skin making it look healthy and glowing and not to mention it smells amazing! I find it works great under make up and keeps my skin from feeling dry throughout the day.

Last thing to mention is without a doubt my favourite discovery of the past few months, and for a skincare junky like me that’s a massive claim! I have been using Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm after my three-step skincare routine, as a primer before make up or on no makeup days as the final step of my routine before facing the world. It adds a radiance and glow to your skin that I have never seen in a skincare product before. It wasn’t until I saw myself on FaceTime one evening and thought my highlighter had lasted well. I then realised that in-fact I wasn’t wearing any make up, I had simply put the radiance balm all over my face that morning and it was adding a lovely natural sheen to the tops of my cheeks. I can’t stress enough how much you should try this product if you haven’t already. It’s only £7.99 and is very comparable to much higher-end highlighters and primers that can cost up to three times the price. So thrilled I discovered this product and I am sure it won’t be the last time I rave about it!
