I really don’t want to jinx it but it looks like summer might finally be here. After months of the cold weather and even snow in April, I have never been more excited to see the sun. A new season calls for new clothes and there are a few things that I have added to my wardrobe that I absolutely love.
This one will come as a bit of a shock if you know me at all. Colour is something I am not particularly familiar with. I pretty much live in black. I mean I go to drama school and we had to wear black every day to class but let’s face it that’s just an excuse, I’ve always worn black. However, I recently got my hair cut short and dyed back to its natural colour which is pretty dark and it’s made me want to introduce more colour into my wardrobe. The whole dark hair, pale skin, black top was all getting a bit much and on photos, I noticed how washed out it was making me look so I’ve been adding more colourful garments into my wardrobe.
Playsuits & Jumpsuits
I love playsuits, always have, and now that the weather has warmed up I finally have an excuse to order some more. I love dressing well but I am pretty lazy when it comes to putting together outfits. The last thing you want to be doing when it’s 30 degrees outside and your uni window won’t open (just me?) is trying on outfit after outfit trying to get something that looks good but also means your not going to start melting the second you walk into direct sunlight. This is where my love for jumpsuits and playsuits comes from. It’s a ready-made outfit, what could be better than that? I have especially been loving shopping for them on Warehouse and Urban Outfitters.
Accessories are key all year round but recently I have been obsessed with big earrings. I think again it’s down to my new short hair but I just can’t get enough of lovely big summery statement earrings. I’ve been loving my Weekday gold hoops as well as a few pairs I picked up from Whistles before my graduation ball a few weeks ago.
Keep an eye out on my Instagram to see the different pieces I have been buying. What is your summer go to? Let me know in the comments.
