A hair care routine isn’t something I have always really stuck to in any way, I have pretty well-behaved hair that’s never really caused many issues and that hasn’t changed but I have found myself being drawn to buying more styling products recently and I seem to have ended up with a pretty stable routine so I thought I’d run you through it.
Before I get into it I’ll give you a quick run down on what hair type I’m dealing with and what products have worked for me… I have longish, very thick wavy hair that has been coloured several times in the past. It’s not too oily or dry and on the whole is very easy to work with. My main issue is despite its thickness it’s pretty volume less and no amount of hair spray seems to make it do anything different from sitting flat to my head.
When it comes to Shampoo and Conditioner I’m not one to spend a lot, they all seem to be much of a muchness if I’m honest so I don’t tend to splash out on anything too fancy. However I do like a good hair masque every other week or so I’m currently using the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Masque and find it leaves my hair feeling less dry and with a really healthy shine. I’m not a massive fan of the smell however I only have to put up with it whilst waiting my 5 minutes for it to do its thing as the smell isn’t noticeable once it’s washed out.
Once I’ve rinsed out the masque and towel dried I add in some products in the hope that it may add a bit of volume to my otherwise flat and lifeless locks. Firstly I have been using the Charles Worthington Volume Moose for about a year now and I love it. I love everything I’ve tried so far from Charles Worthingtion it’s just a shame it’s in the slightly pricey side of things, but they’re great products.
I then spray a heat protector throughout as although I rarely ever blow dry I do often use my GHDs to straighten out my natural waviness. I’m currently using the Tresemme Heat Protector Spray which gets the job done.
On to styling, I use a mixture of the Tresemme Salon Finish String Hold hair spray and the Charles Worthington Texture Spray (that smells amazing) to keep it straight and also add a bit of… Yup you guessed it volume.
I am in a bad habit of washing my hair too often and so I’m slowly trying to ween myself off of doing it daily. So I have been using Tresemme Dry Shampoo to see me through the few days in between washes.
