It isn’t often I switch up my eyeshadow palette as I am deeply devoted to my Urban Decay Naked 2, however this Cocoa Blend palette from Zoeva has impressed me. From burnt oranges to warm roses it has the lot. With loads of fresh new colour combinations to try out and a mixture of shimmer and matt shades to choose from. Recently I have a new-found love for experimenting with new shadows, and although I’m not branching out to blues and greens I’ve been getting a little more adventurous with the shades I use.
There are 10 shades in this palette. Just a heads up the shadows are very powdery so be aware you need to tap off the excess product before sweeping it over your eyelid to avoid ruining your base. However the shades a very pigmented which makes them easy to work with to achieve the desired effect. The range stretches from ‘Bitter Start’, a great champaigny white perfect for an inner corner highlight, to ‘Beans Are White’ which is great if you want to smoke up your look. It also contains some burgundy and copper tones and my personal favourites which are the warm pinks. Due to the wide range of colours I think this palette is great for a lot of skin tones and you can achieve a lot of diverse looks. The way they blend in the eyes and pigmentation is really great and overall very impressed with this product.
My go-to look starts by sweeping the pale gold shimmer shade ‘Pure Ganache’ over my whole lid, followed by a dash of ‘Subtle Blend’. I then take another brush and pop a bit of ‘Freshly Toasted’ into the crease and also alone the lash line using the same brush. Finally I also add the darkest shade from the palette to my upper lash line to add definition and make my eyes look wider. To finish off I go in with a line of black liner and then several coatings of mascara as usual. There you have a beautiful smoky eye using less conventional shades that would look great on any colouring and really help your eyes to stand out. Last thing to mention is the price, this pallet is super affordable but neither the packaging or the product itself seem cheap in any way. It comes highly recommended from me.
Is it going to take over my Naked 2 in terms of all time favourites? We’ll have to wait and see.
